Turkey, July 5 2026 - Turkish giants Beşiktaş have reached a club-to-club agreement with Arsenal to sign Belgian international Leandro Trossard in a deal worth €20 million, but the transfer is not yet complete as negotiations over personal terms remain ongoing.
The agreement, which is expected to be finalized after Belgium's FIFA World Cup campaign, includes an €18 million guaranteed fee plus €2 million in performance-related add-ons. Beşiktaş are now focused on convincing Trossard to make the move to Istanbul, with club officials reportedly planning to meet the player in the United States during the World Cup if necessary.
After weeks of discussions, Arsenal and Beşiktaş have agreed on the financial terms of the transfer.
According to multiple reports, the Turkish club will pay an initial €18 million, with a further €2 million available through add-ons. However, the move remains subject to Trossard agreeing personal terms, with negotiations over wages and contract length still underway. Reports suggest the Belgian could earn up to €9 million per season if an agreement is reached.
Neither club has officially announced the transfer, meaning Trossard remains an Arsenal player while discussions continue.
Trossard is currently representing Belgium at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and has chosen to postpone any decision on his club future until his international campaign comes to an end.
Beşiktaş are prepared to remain patient and are reportedly considering sending senior representatives to the United States to continue face-to-face negotiations once Belgium's schedule allows.
The 31-year-old has been one of Belgium's standout performers at the tournament, further increasing interest in his future.
If the transfer is completed, it will bring an end to Trossard's three-and-a-half-year stay at Arsenal.
The Belgian joined the Gunners from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 and quickly established himself as one of Mikel Arteta's most dependable attacking options. Although rarely an automatic starter, his versatility allowed him to play on either wing, as a false nine and in attacking midfield.
Trossard became known for delivering crucial goals and assists in important matches, earning a reputation as one of Arsenal's most reliable impact players.
The Belgian international played an important part in Arsenal's successful 2025-26 Premier League title-winning campaign.

Across all competitions, he made 50 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists. Many of his contributions came in decisive moments, including a late winner against West Ham United that helped Arsenal maintain their advantage at the top of the table during the closing weeks of the season.
Since arriving at the Emirates, Trossard has registered 36 goals and 34 assists in 174 appearances, making him one of the club's most productive attacking players during his time in North London.
With just one year remaining on his contract, Arsenal appear willing to cash in rather than risk losing Trossard on a free transfer next summer.
The transfer would also free up funds and squad space as Mikel Arteta continues to reshape his attack. Arsenal have been linked with several attacking reinforcements this summer, and selling Trossard would provide greater flexibility in the transfer market.
For Arsenal, receiving around €20 million for a 31-year-old player entering the final year of his deal is widely viewed as strong business.
