Mogadishu (Dawan) – Somalia’s security forces launched an operation to seize illegal weapons used by militias during the recent clashes in Banadir region's Cabdicasiis district, the Banadir Regional Police said.
The police urged residents of Cabdicasiis and surrounding areas to cooperate with security agencies during the operation.
The officers warned that any individual found storing, concealing, or facilitating illegal weapons will face legal action under Somali law.

The police also urged citizens to immediately report any discovered caches of illegal weapons via the emergency numbers 991 or 199.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by federal forces to strengthen security and maintain public safety in Mogadishu.
