Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) – Somalia’s Interior Ministry has notified political parties, district offices, election committees, and other government agencies to prepare for upcoming Banadir district council chairperson elections.
The circular, dated 13 June 2026, specifies that the elections for the district council chairs in Banadir will be held on 5 July 2026. The Ministry emphasized the need for political actors, election committees, and government offices to actively participate in preparation, ensure proper preparations and guarantee transparent elections conducted in accordance with national law.
