Addis Ababa (Dawan ) – The African Union Commission has expressed serious concern over reports of armed clashes in civilian neighborhoods in Mogadishu.
In a statement, the commission called on all parties to immediately cease hostilities, exercise full restraint, and prioritize the protection of civilians.
The AU also urged Somali political stakeholders to resolve disputes through dialogue and established constitutional processes, emphasizing that peaceful negotiation is the proper mechanism for addressing political differences.

The commission praised the efforts of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and other political leaders involved in national dialogue, compromise, and consensus-building aimed at achieving political stability.
The AU confirmed that it will closely monitor the situation and highlighted the readiness of its African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) to continue supporting peacebuilding efforts and ensuring security in the country.
