The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf has congratulated Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on his re-election for another five-year term.
Youssouf described Ethiopia as a country with a special place in the African Union, noting its role as the host of the AU headquarters and a major diplomatic centre for the continent.
The AU Commission Chairperson said he looks forward to continued close cooperation with the prime minister and his government in advancing Africa’s integration, peace, security and development agenda.
