Egypt, 25 April 2026 The Arab Parliament condemned Israel’s appointment of an ambassador to Somaliland, describing the move as a violation of international law and Somalia’s sovereignty.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the parliament said the step amounted to direct interference in Somalia’s internal affairs and undermined its territorial integrity.
The body also rejected any actions that support or legitimise secession or recognise entities that lack international recognition.

The Arab Parliament expressed support for Somalia, commending its efforts to safeguard its unity, independence and territorial integrity.
It also called on the international community to take responsibility and condemn actions it said could threaten regional security and stability.
Somaliland, a self-declared region in northern Somalia, established diplomatic ties with Israel last year, drawing condemnation from Somalia and its partners.
