Qatar, 16 September 2025 – Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries have called on all the states that participated in the emergency summit held in Doha to reconsider their diplomatic and economic relations with Israel.
In a communiqué issued after the summit on Monday the leaders asked members of the two organizations to take effective legal and political measures to prevent Israel from continuing its actions against the Palestinian people.
These measures include: supporting efforts to halt Israel's impunity in the Middle East, imposing sanctions on Israel, halting the transfer of weapons and military supplies through these countries to Israel, reviewing diplomatic and economic relations, and initiating legal proceedings against Israel.
"We call on all countries to take all effective legal measures to prevent Israel from continuing its actions against the Palestinian people" the statement read.
The leaders also called on OIC member states to "examine Israel’s membership in the United Nations in light of its violations of membership conditions and its persistent disregard for UN resolutions," and pledged to push for the suspension of Israel from the United Nations.
The communiqué tasked "OIC member states that are parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to support the enforcement of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21, 2024, against those responsible for crimes against the Palestinian people."
