ADDIS ABABA (Dawan) – Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the Entoto–Kebena Riverfront Project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian news agencies reported.
The 10.5-kilometer project along the river features modern flood protection systems, new bridges, and expansive green public spaces aimed at improving both environmental quality and residents’ quality of life.
Prime Minister Abiy described the project as a major step toward making Addis Ababa a climate-resilient, highly liveable city, capable of competing globally in tourism and economic activity.

“The project is not limited to construction; it reflects Addis Ababa’s ambition to become a resilient, sustainable, and attractive city for residents and visitors alike,” said Abiy Ahmed.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving citizens’ quality of life through sustained development initiatives, highlighting the long-term benefits of urban renewal, flood mitigation, and the creation of safe, green public spaces.
