Ethiopia (Dawan Africa) Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the first phase of the Gelan Gura Industrial Park on Saturday, marking the start of its operations.
The Prime Minister said the completion and launch represents another step forward in Ethiopia’s efforts to advance its prosperity journey and build a strong, reliable economy.
In a message posted on social media, Ahmed said the Gelan Gura Industrial Park is among the key projects aimed at strengthening the country’s economic growth, particularly in industrial production, domestic trade and the export of goods.
The Gelan Gura Industrial Park covers 93.9 hectares of land, with the first phase developed on 43 hectares.

The Prime Minister said the project will create suitable business opportunities for medium and large companies, while also generating employment opportunities for thousands of young people.
He also added that the industrial park will increase Ethiopia’s industrial production capacity, boost domestic output and strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses.
The launch of the first phase of the Gelan Gura Industrial Park comes as Ethiopia focuses on expanding its industrial sector, encouraging domestic production and attracting investment to strengthen the country’s economy.
