Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army's elite and U.S Africa Command killed 30 Al-Shabaab militants after conducting joint at Jilib Marko area near Marka city in lower Shabelle southern parts of the country.
The State run-media said Saturday that the joint forces carried out special operation in the area, targeting Al-Shabaab militants re-organizing there after receiving intelligence reports regarding to their movement.
The operation comes a week after two Cuban doctors held captives were killed in an airstrike happened in Jilib district in Middle Jubba region in Southern Somalia.
Al-Shabaab kidnapped the two Cuban doctors, Assel Hererra and Landy Rodriguez from Mandera northeastern Kenya in 2019.
