Kenya, 13 October 2026 - President William Ruto on Tuesday urged residents of Baringo County to register as voters en masse, saying that is the highway to forming government.
Tiaty MP William Kamket said Tiaty in Baringo is a very large area and that residents are ready to teach the President’s opponents a lesson. He said about 100,000 votes would go to President Ruto.
However, President Ruto said Tiaty has the potential to deliver 200,000 votes.
“Registration to get a National ID is free, getting a voter’s card is free and voting is only one day,” he said.
He added that, as Head of State, he should enjoy massive support in his Rift Valley backyard instead of a low voter turnout that leaves him politically vulnerable.
“You residents of Tiaty, register as voters and spare me the shame of having to kneel before people from other parts just to get their votes,” he said.
He added that, as the country’s top boss, if re-elected he will remain the 'slave' of all Kenyans in order to deliver the development plan for five more years.

Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek said his constituency is smaller than Tiaty but has more votes.
“Even in the upcoming Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) mass voter registration exercise, we are going to beat you people of Tiaty. You need to pull up your socks,” Kiborek said.
Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen thanked the Head of State for his support in restoring peace in Kerio Valley.
“Those bandits in Kerio Valley have surrendered guns and have now embraced development,” Murkomen said.
He added that areas still lagging behind, such as Samburu West and parts of Tiaty, will soon enjoy peace.
