GODEY (Dawan) September 6, 2026 A total of 130 students have graduated from the Somali Regional State College of Public Service Management in Godey after completing four years of study, marking the first graduating cohort of the institution, according to SRTV.
The graduation ceremony, held on Saturday in Godey, was attended by Shabelle Zone Administrator Abdi Farah, Godey Mayor Abdullahi Ali Haji, the college’s Director General Nimcan Ibrahim, as well as parents, students and other guests.
The graduating class completed four years of study, becoming the first group to graduate from the college since its establishment.
Shabelle Zone Administrator Abdi Farah congratulated the graduates, stressing that education and skills development have become increasingly important in today’s job market and everyday life.The college’s Director General, Nimcan Ibrahim, said the institution has trained nearly 37,000 people through a combination of long-term and short-term training programmes.
“The college has trained 37,000 people through programmes ranging from long-term courses to short-term training,” Ibrahim said.

Officials at the ceremony said the college has focused on improving the quality of education and strengthening public service delivery in the Somali Regional State.
They also said plans are underway to transform the college into another university in Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State.
The graduation of the first cohort marks a new stage for the institution as regional authorities continue efforts to expand higher education opportunities in the region.
