- Julius Kipng’etich was born and raised in Iten, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, where he initially dreamed of becoming a teacher like his mother. He joined Starehe Boys’ Centre in Nairobi in 1979, after completing his primary education. At Starehe, his economics teacher, Joram Ayoo, inspired him to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Nairobi.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi. - Julius Kipng’etich began his career as a lecturer before serving as CEO of the Kenya Wildlife Service. He later led the Kenya Investment Promotion Centre, worked as Chief Operating Officer at Equity Group, and served as CEO of Uchumi Supermarkets. He is currently the Regional Group CEO of Jubilee Holdings.

- He has an international career through his leadership of Jubilee Holdings, a financial services group operating in several African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Mauritius. As Group CEO, he oversees the company’s regional operations and has worked with teams and markets across East Africa
- Accolades
- Julius Kipng’etich has received the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) and Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS), two of Kenya’s presidential honours. He was also named CEO of the Year at the Company of the Year Awards in 2009. During his leadership, the Kenya Wildlife Service received recognition for leadership, management and corporate governance, while Kipng’etich was honoured as a marketing trailblazer in 2011
